Review: ‘i just want to dance’ - Lucky Iris

Leeds, UK based electric pop duo, Lucky Iris, released their newest track, ‘i just want to dance’ on July 23rd.

“i just want to dance is the romanticizing of our first experiences of going out. the true start of our crunchy pop journey. truly it was all i could think about. it was glittery, it was loud, it was kind of blurry. it was the first taste of freedom. it’s all about letting go.” the band says via Instagram.

Electro-pop, or crunchy pop as Lucky Iris likes to call it, has seen an upward tick in listeners and streams over the past year. It’s no secret that the world today is scary and the feelings of dread can be overwhelming.

The electro-pop space is free of feelings of dread, fear, doubts, and gives a place to let go and just dance.

The track ‘i just want to dance’ has a seamless flow, the synths are euphoric, and really hit the target for the free feelings that they were aiming for.

The song is great on its own, perfect for getting ready for a night out or dancing by yourself, but I could see the song start to get added to more mixes.

The track is well-crafted, and with that, there is added room to play with the song a little in some DJ playlists and mixes. I wouldn’t be surprised if you start hearing more of Lucky Iris in club mixes.

Overall, songs like ‘I just want to dance’ are needed today. The song is genuine and has such a great feeling to it. Take a listen to the track and add it to your going-out playlists, you won’t regret it.
